Dead Money Banned From Wild Turkey's Blog.

We're really sorry Wild Turkey's for all of the mischief. We really do enjoy reading your blog and hope that you will reopen it for our view. The truth is that if it weren't for your blog we may not be in the position we are now. Since discovering your blog we have had a perfect record in both leagues that we are in. Seems we just needed something to fight for. Perhaps it was just enough to get our blood pumping a little more. We meant no harm by any of our posts on our page nor by any of our comments on yours. It was just a little gamesmanship. We do respect your team for its record in the regular season and just felt we should give you a little needling for good measure. We were hoping that you would discover our blog and we might be able to get a little rivalry going. Remember, you started your blog first. We just answered back. Do you remember this comment that you made, "They are annoying people, and I don't like them very much."? Well if you don't, it was a comment made about us, by you. We found this among other parts of your blog rather funny and enjoy reading about the ups and downs of your team. You will be able to view or comment on our blog as much as you like, and we hope that you will allow us to to the same. If not, it was a good run and we hope to see you next year. After all, we do owe some of our success to you.

P.S. nah nah nah nah boo boo!

Dead Money Wins!

Dead Money's first championship is a marvelous one. We had a 10 run second inning that for all intensive purposes sealed the game for us. The game was certainly less dramatic than expected. Ballz Deep was completely taken out of their game by flawless defence. And by flawless I mean spectacular. There were diving catches, double plays and smart ball control. Dead Money has certainly played as a stand alone first place team should...perfectly! So the final score was 17-7, yet another 10 run game in 5 innings.

Ballz Deep was without a doubt the second best team in the league. They were definitely seen as the best competitors, the one team that had a chance to beat us. They certainly have the bats and the speed, but seem to be lacking the defensive prowess that it takes to win a championship. I would also like to note that they were very good sports, which was much appreciated when compared with some of the other teams that we have played lately. No talking about how good they are before the game and not a single bit of trash talking during or after the game. Thank you Ballz Deep for good, clean, friendly competition.

On another note, it turns out that I was wrong about the Wild Turkeys. They did not go running away from the Tuesday night league. My mistake, and I apologize sincerely. What actually happened is that they were sent on a highly classified mission by an undisclosed higher power to really make something out of the Thursday night league. A good choice for the "higher power" to choose the team that only won one game in the playoffs against the worst team in the league. Way to go Wild Turkeys! You really showed us all what you are capable of. As far as your clandestine mission to the Thursday night league, our thoughts and prayers will be with you. Godspeed Wild Turkeys, Godspeed!

Wild Turkeys Running From Tuesday Night League

It appears that the Wild Turkeys have become scared and flushed out of the Tuesday night double header league at Big Willow. The self-declared "dominate" team in the Tuesday night league is running with their tail feathers between their legs. Must be embarrassing. They have already declared themselves the champions of the Thursday night fall league without a game even being played. This must have been done tongue in cheek, because we all know what happened the last time they made such a ridiculous declaration. For those of you who don't know what happened, they were eliminated in their fourth game of a double elimination playoff tourney. They also like to continue to refer to themselves as the regular season champions, which we all know is not true since Dead Money defeated them in head-to-head play, making Dead Money the obvious winner. Plus we have the trophy to prove it (refer to post from July 11).

Trash Talking Teams Are Nothing But Hot Garbage.

Well it turns out that The Wild Turkeys aren't the dominating team in the league, and that we in fact will not be seeing Team Alliance next Tuesday as their douchebag second baseman had promised us after they took a severe pummeling in a 11-1 loss. I mean really, douchebag second baseman, you're not gonna give up home plate after you just suffered a humiliating loss? All that means, is that you lost, and then you were a dick head. There is nothing positive in that. Oh, and then you lost again to Ballz Deep.

So, next week we will be playing Ballz Deep in the championship game. We need to beat them once out of two games in order to win. I do believe they are the one decent team in the league that has actually not been talking trash. I guess that means they are not "Hot Garbage". But, we have not lost to them yet.

Wild Turkeys Pick Dead Money!

Looking at The Wild Turkeys blog, they have Dead Money as the favorite over Team Alliance. Have these poor souls finally realized who the true dominating team in Minnetonka is? It sure sounds like they want no part of this plate of nachos! We've got them running for the hills boys, lets just make sure we follow through like Derek does with that sweet release.

Final Game of the Regular Season: Part Deuce!

Tonight, Derek will throw out the final pitches of the regular season in Eden Prairie. Our opponent, DTC, is virtually unknown. Their record shows that they are a below .500 team but they are averaging about the same number of runs per game as we do (about 12). Our defense should be the deciding factor, smart plays-we win, bad decisions-we lose.

Nice Play Nate!

A Great Start in the Playoffs!

Once again we were able to watch the sopposed dominate team in the Minnetonka League lose proir to the start of our playoff games. Seems that the luster of the Wild Turkeys has been lost. Maybe a more appropriate name for the their team would be, "The Choking Turkeys". Maybe they should be spending less time talking trash about other teams, and a little more time on not choking!

On an even more exciting note, Dead Money wins the first two games of the playoffs, and continues a nice little winning streak. We were sharp in the field, completing 5 double plays in the two games. That would be tough for any competitor to overcome. Also exceeding our homerun limit with runners on base helped out in the final tally.

Last Friday we also went 2-0 defeating a previously undefeated Wooddale Green. As predicted it was a bad decision on thier part to make up the game with Dead Money. They will not be able to get back thier undefeated status. Dead Money proves once again that they are a force to be reconed with.

Division Championship Trophy

We have been awarded the highest honor for our accomplishments in the Minnetonka League. We are The regular season Division Champions! Pat yourselves on the backs fellas, well done!

Wide Spectrum of Games Tonight

As Dead Money reconvenes the Friday night league after a Forth of July break, we will be playing a double-header, rather than the originally scheduled single-header. Wooddale Green wanted to play our make-up game at 7:50. Which was a poor decision on their part. I would have thought that they would like to preserve thier perfect record.

Tonights match-ups are polar opposites. The first game is against what appears to be a horrible team, the T.P. Terminators. I mean really, who can't terminate some T.P.? I do it at least once a day, if you know what I mean. Apparently just about everybody terminates these guys, 'cause they have a 2-12 record, with an average of 4.71 runs per game. I think that they may have accidentally signed up for softball when attempting to play in a soccer league.

Wooddale Green on the other hand is the stand alone number one team in the league with a perfect 13-0 record, with an average of 13.77 RPG. This is a very defeatable team. We lost a close game to them last year with an inferior Dead Money roster. We will have an hour in between games to discuss strategy and....drink beer? Relaxation is the key to this game, along with smart fielding and baserunning.

This is how we play!

We sacrifice life and limb for the "W". So to all the teams that think they can come in and walk to a victory, they can lick Nate's (or Brian's) leg wound!

Final Game of the Regular Season

Well, last night certainly was satisfying for the players and fans alike. Prior to the start of our final game of the season we witnessed the trash talking Wild Turkeys suffer a humiliating deafeat at the hands of a sub-par D&D team. To D&D's credit, they are a much improved team. Plus like us, they are an all Hopkins team. So at this point, we are number one!

Our game at 9:15 went as it should have, we win 21-5. This is the Dead Money performance that we all have been awaiting. Seems like the last month has been riddled with close wins and even a few losses. But we played last night like the way we began the season...completely dominating. Although satisfying to take that win, and finally score over 20 runs, our opponents were the worst team in the league and they should be dominated.

So lets take this momentum into the rest of the season in Eden Prairie and into the Playoffs in Minnetonka. Go Dead Money!
