Yup, that's right, Dead Money wins the Championship the hard way. We couldn't put any hits together following numerous walks, to score any runs in the first game. Any decent hits seemed to be hit directly at a Doublewide player. Huge disappointment.
The second game was against The Wild Turkeys who beat Ballz Deep to squeeze themselves into a guaranteed 3rd place finish for the summer season. This was a very relaxed game for us, didn't need to pull out anything fantastic, just played our game for the win.
The second game against Doublewide started out much the same as the first...except with runners scoring. Also for the first time this season we were able to track down the intricacies of the Doublewide offense. Our defense seemed too much for them to handle and we came away with out first victory of the year against the #1 seed. At one point we were within 1 run of a 10 run rule limit but they were able to battle back with some solid base hits and a few Texas leaguers.
The Championship game left Doublewide defending themselves with only 9 players. With their defense completely exposed we picked them apart inning after inning finally finishing the game off in the 6th inning after using the 10 run rule. Doublewide is definitely a good team, but after last nights games, I think that they will be the ones struggling in the future. I think that their anonymity worked in their favor this year. We've got them all but completely locked down. The most impressive thing all night was to watch their center fielder run all over the place making catches and strong throws. Taking away their fifth infielder in the last game showed how bad they need that player in the infield. Not much range there.
Congrats Dead Money and the rest of the teams in the league for a fine season played. I will leave Team Alliance out of that congrats, because they are....... Never mind, too mean.

Who's your League Champions?? DOUBLEWIDE!! Congrats on 2nd place though...that'll make for a good picture.

BTW, were you guys really that excited about beating a team who was playing with 8.5 guys (we had 9 but our 9th threw out his back so was ineffective)?

Not sure if you are aware of this, but we have been playing through injuries all season...so stop whining. I have 2 cracked ribs, I'm not crying about it. We beat you 2 times in a row. We have also played games this year with only 8 players.
Also, I understand your frustration. You were under the impression that you had a clandestine season going. That may be the only reason for your success. But, last night...you were exposed. We now know who you are. MOVE'EM IN! Way in.
That must explain the case of the drops you suffered from last night!
Congrats on beating us 2 times in a row...when the games didn't matter as we'd already submitted our T-shirt sizes since we already had the Championship wrapped up.
You guys were also exposed last night! Hit a pop up to the right fielder.
P.S. Your team has some guys that are good enough to talk shit but don't. I commend them for that and thanks for the pitcher of beer last night from those guys!

How did you pitcher throw out his back throwing it underhand all day? Was it on that infield fly? HAHA
Paper: If you are talking about the infield fly that should have been called that never was I was already not pitching then so no it wasn't that. (P.S. - the ump came up to us after the game and said that he was wrong on that call.)
I'm guessing you have never dealt with a sports injury or a back problem before in your life. If you have, you should know they never go away and any wrong step or twist can put you right back on the DL.

Wow...Doublewide is intense!!! Jeez!!! I will give you that play was a joke, as was that umpire. He has been making ridiculous calls for years. Maybe your right, the reason you lost is because you have better players.
